Ingredients: (Tres Leches Cake)

1 Cup All Purpose Flour
1 ½ Tsp Baking Powder
¼ Tsp Salt
5 Large Size Eggs
1 Cup Sugar (Divided into 3/4 & 1/4 Cups)
1 Tsp Vanilla Essence or Extract
1/3 Cup Whole Milk

12 oz Evaporated Milk
9 oz Sweetened Condensed Milk
1/3 Cup Full Cream Milk
1/4 Tsp Vanilla Essence

2 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar (Sugar Powder)

Complete Recipe (Step by Step)

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F / 180°C and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan. Set up three mixing bowls.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt.
  3. Separate egg whites and yolks into the other two bowls. “Cold eggs are easier to separate”
  4. Beat egg yolks with 3/4 cup sugar with an electric mixer on high speed until yolks are in pale yellow colour. When its done, you will see that it forms a thick ribbon when batter is pulled up. Stir 1/3 cup milk and 1 Tsp vanilla slowly.
  5. Sift 1 cup flour and 1/2 Tsp baking powder and 1/4 Tsp salt over egg mixture. Fold gently with a spatula.
  6. Beat egg whites on high speed until soft peaks form. With the mixer on pour in remaining 1/4 cup sugar and beat on high speed until egg whites are stiff but not too stiff and dry.
  7. Gently fold in egg whites with the yolk mixture until just combined. Pour batter into prepared pan and even out its surface with a spatula.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 30 – 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

How to make Three Milk Syrup (Step by Step)

  1. In a large bowl, combine 1/3 cup full cream milk, 12 oz evaporated milk, 9 oz condensed milk and 1/4 Tsp Vanilla essence or extract. When cake cools down, pierce the surface with a fork slowly, drizzle the milk mixture over the cake.
  2. Slowly drizzle 1/2 of the milk mixture. Leave 1/2 cup aside for serving.
  3. Refrigerate it for 1 hour till it absorbs the syrup.

How to make Frosting (Step by Step)

  1. Beat 2 cups of very cold whipping cream.
  2. Beat on high speed until frosting is thick and whipped. It should be spreadable.
  3. Spread over the cake with a spatula. Thick layer of frosting makes this cake very impressive.
